When Osmar de Moraes fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Goiás Esporte Clube's protests and gave Osmar de Moraes a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Goiás Esporte Clube's Osmar de Moraes got a free kick in the 3rd minute. 5 minutes into the game, Edgard Cabral cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Apolo Larrañaga was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 9 minutes into the game, Jarbas Brito was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Goiás Esporte Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Talcampeón FC the free kick. In the 9th match minute, Goiás Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jarbas Brito to maneuver through the defense. 10 minutes into the match, Goiás Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Mané Quirino had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jacinto Cross. Edgard Cabral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Edgard Cabral recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 22nd minute Luciano Vilches shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mané Quirino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Apolo Larrañaga came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Goiás Esporte Clube's Osmar de Moraes. But to his dismay, Osmar de Moraes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 34th match minute, Goiás Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Osmar de Moraes to maneuver through the defense. The Goiás Esporte Clube fans' excitement grew in the 40th match minute when Goiás Esporte Clube's Edgard Cabral looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After having played for 47 minutes, Edgard Cabral managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Goiás Esporte Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edgard Cabral was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jacinto Cross to strike the kick off in the second half. Jacinto Cross received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Mané Quirino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edgard Cabral blasted a shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Apolo Larrañaga having to make a save. Mané Quirino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jacinto Cross in the 55th minute of the match. Edgard Cabral blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Apolo Larrañaga having to make a save. With a little luck, Talcampeón FC's Apolo Larrañaga got control of the ball when Edgard Cabral tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Edgard Cabral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 61 minutes, Edgard Cabral made it 0-5 with a short kick to the right side. Talcampeón FC's Apolo Larrañaga tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 64th minute Edgard Cabral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Apolo Larrañaga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Apolo Larrañaga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christian Carioca in the 67th minute of the match. 68 minutes in the game, Edgard Cabral fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Apolo Larrañaga having to interfere. In the 70th minute Tanio Lezaeta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mané Quirino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Goiás Esporte Clube's Mané Quirino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacinto Cross in the 72nd minute of play. In the 73rd minute Edgard Cabral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Apolo Larrañaga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 75 minutes of play, Talcampeón FC's Luciano Vilches made it 1-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mané Quirino was left in no man's land by his defense there! Tanio Lezaeta might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mané Quirino. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tanio Lezaeta ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 79thth minute of the game Edgard Cabral who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Talcampeón FC's Apolo Larrañaga was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 80th minute Goiás Esporte Clube were awarded a corner. Edgard Cabral went to the cornerflag to take it. It was a well-played corner which Christian Carioca managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. When Goiás Esporte Clube's Osmar de Moraes in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Talcampeón FC's goalie prevented a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Christian Carioca got free with Apolo Larrañaga in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Edgard Cabral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Apolo Larrañaga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgard Cabral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Talcampeón FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Goiás Esporte Clube's performance. The match ended with a win for Goiás Esporte Clube.
