The SAN LORENZO FC fans' excitement grew in the 6th match minute when SAN LORENZO FC's Casimiro Jenaro looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Ernst Cakir took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Natalio Mitxaut. Natalio Mitxaut dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Walter Erviti kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. In the 26th match minute, ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pio Erne to maneuver through the defense. After 27th play minutes Casimiro Jenaro shot 1-2, a short shot which went by Herbert Good and just under the crossbar into goal. Casimiro Jenaro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Herbert Good having to interfere. In the 32nd minute, Walter Erviti hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Herbert Good showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Casimiro Jenaro, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Natalio Mitxaut made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bernd Heid in the 44th minute. After the first half SAN LORENZO FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ernst Cakir to make the kick off. In the 50th minute, Roland Hilbe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 52 played minutes SAN LORENZO FC got a freekick which was hit by Walter Erviti. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Casimiro Jenaro in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Herbert Good saved ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ from getting behind. Natalio Mitxaut showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernst Cakir, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Casimiro Jenaro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Herbert Good tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SAN LORENZO FC's Sebastián Abreu was substituted for Casimiro Jenaro. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernd Heid in the 74th minute of play forced SAN LORENZO FC's goalkeeper Natalio Mitxaut to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sebastián Abreu might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Herbert Good. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sebastián Abreu ran back to his position shaking his head. Natalio Mitxaut took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ernst Cakir, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Sebastián Abreu fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SAN LORENZO FC's protests and gave Sebastián Abreu a yellow card for diving instead. Sebastián Abreu kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. 91 minutes into the match, Sebastián Abreu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Herbert Good. ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sebastián Abreu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4.
