In the 16th minute Ronny Sele shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mané Quirino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 26 minutes into the game, Daniel Jopek was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Goiás Esporte Clube the free kick. A collision led to ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Daniel Jopek hit a great ball. After 35 played minutes, Goiás Esporte Clube's Edgard Cabral shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Herbert Good came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Goiás Esporte Clube reached it. Herbert Good showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jarbas Brito in the 36th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 43 minutes, Jarbas Brito took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Herbert Good to make any attempt to save it. Jarbas Brito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Herbert Good having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

With his leg Mané Quirino managed to avoid a goal in the 57thth minute, when ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ's Ernst Cakir fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Roland Hilbe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jarbas Brito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Goiás Esporte Clube's Mané Quirino got control of the ball when Ernst Cakir tried to sneak it across the goal line. Goiás Esporte Clube's Mané Quirino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernst Cakir in the 66th minute of play. When Ernst Cakir came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ernst Cakir couldn't finish the play. In the 72nd minute, Ismael Penha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Goiás Esporte Clube's Mané Quirino proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Goiás Esporte Clube from getting a goal against them. A hard shot 77 in the game by Ernst Cakir from a close distance when the talented Mané Quirino managed to make a qualified save. Goiás Esporte Clube's players were relieved. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ismael Penha in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Herbert Good prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ismael Penha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ernst Cakir's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 93rdth minute, Mané Quirino skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ's Herbert Good played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jarbas Brito in the 95th minute of play. Many of ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ may have spent more time on the ball, but Goiás Esporte Clube were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
