With an all-out effort, Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ's Rodriguinho Sousa threw himself towards the right post 12 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Edu Carvalho, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 16 minutes into the match, ATHLETICO PRaiano's Deilmison van Basten sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hansjörg Wastl narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 18 minutes into the match, Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Deilmison van Basten came free, but Hansjörg Wastl reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ defense, Deilmison van Basten kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hansjörg Wastl. The Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hansjörg Wastl should have stopped the shot. Betão Marquez kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Rodriguinho Sousa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Henrique Borges in the 25th minute. When Deilmison van Basten came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the ATHLETICO PRaiano fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Deilmison van Basten couldn't finish the play. Betão Marquez hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Henrique Borges could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Rodriguinho Sousa made a huge save. Deilmison van Basten recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hansjörg Wastl took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Deilmison van Basten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Deilmison van Basten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 42nd minute Edu Carvalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodriguinho Sousa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zé Ivakin kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ's Zé Ivakin got a free kick in the 49th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Deilmison van Basten to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Denílson Magalhães shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hansjörg Wastl saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Deilmison van Basten blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hansjörg Wastl having to make a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Deilmison van Basten got free with Hansjörg Wastl in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rodriguinho Sousa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edu Carvalho in the 61st minute of play. Deilmison van Basten's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hansjörg Wastl read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. Pedro Geromel kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. ATHLETICO PRaiano made a substitution. Heitor Maldini replaced Betão Marquez. In the 71st match minute, Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Geromel to maneuver through the defense. ATHLETICO PRaiano's Rodriguinho Sousa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Fabiano Sena in the 80th minute of play. Rodriguinho Sousa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edu Carvalho in the 83rd minute of play. The supporters of Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ booed when ATHLETICO PRaiano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Deilmison van Basten didn't get a good kick on the ball. ATHLETICO PRaiano's Rodriguinho Sousa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Fabiano Sena in the 86th minute of play. Denílson Magalhães fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hansjörg Wastl having to interfere. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
