When the match had gone on for 9 minutes, Göran Vedholm took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Marco Day to make any attempt to save it. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Ronaldo Cristi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Doffes Damer's supporters rose to their feet, but Ronaldo Cristi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marco Day breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Doffes Damer booed when USA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Koby Fletcher didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fabian Brown hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Marco Day showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldo Cristi, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Greid Tinsmith took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cassius Byrne, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the USA defense, Knut Utfal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marco Day. The USA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marco Day should have stopped the shot. 41 minutes into the match, USA's goalkeeper Marco Day had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Knut Utfal. After 45 played minutes Doffes Damer got a freekick which was hit by Herbert Wincek. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Cassius Byrne received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 50th minute. Greid Tinsmith tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cassius Byrne could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Greid Tinsmith made a huge save. In the 54th match minute, Doffes Damer was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ronaldo Cristi to maneuver through the defense. 55 minutes into the game, Cassius Byrne recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Greid Tinsmith. Cassius Byrne showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. Marco Day made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Göran Vedholm in the 58th minute of play. Cassius Byrne who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 61stth minute tested the skills of Greid Tinsmith when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 67 minutes into the match, Göran Vedholm had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marco Day. USA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Göran Vedholm was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. USA's Sam Campbell was substituted for Cassius Byrne. After having played for 71 minutes, Edward Mcdonald managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. USA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edward Mcdonald was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Edward Mcdonald had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marco Day made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Göran Vedholm in the 77th minute of play. Marco Day showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Inge Braa in the 78th minute of the match. Greg Barrera took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marco Day. Marco Day dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. After some careless play in the USA defense, Greg Barrera kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marco Day. The USA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marco Day should have stopped the shot.
