The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience was convinced that Jorrin Briones's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. After 21 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Cristian Sancho. 30 minutes into the match, Rapsodas Red Devils FC's Jorrin Briones sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Jorrin Briones came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Rapsodas Red Devils FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorrin Briones couldn't finish the play. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Jorrin Briones sent off a good shot on target. In the 47th minute, Eskil Julin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Rapsodas Red Devils FC's Joseph Schwarzfischer quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Primitivo Andino, made in the 51st minute of the game. When Rapsodas Red Devils FC's Jorrin Briones in the 53rd minute got a chance for a shot 53rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Rapsodas Red Devils FC made a substitution. Cristiano Salah replaced Jorrin Briones. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristiano Salah in the 63rd minute of play. In the 65th minute Cristiano Salah shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 66 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Herminio Miera who took care of the corner kick. Rapsodas Red Devils FC's Joseph Schwarzfischer was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 71st minute, Jerrold Taranco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Daniel Zorita hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jerrold Taranco in the 74th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 75th minute, Cristian Sancho reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ferenc Tököli. The goal made the score 2-1. 77 minutes into the game, Felix Montes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ecuador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rapsodas Red Devils FC the free kick. After 78 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Felix Montes. In the 78th minute of the match Herminio Miera shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 79 minutes of play, Rapsodas Red Devils FC's Jerrold Taranco made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 86th minute Cristiano Salah shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 87th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Arias to maneuver through the defense. 89 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Cristiano Salah came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 92 minutes into the game, Leonardo Colmenares cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristiano Salah in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
