In the 3rd minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artur Boruc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 4 minutes had been played when some careless play by Joga Bonito's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. If Luo Wei Xi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Artur Boruc took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 18th minute, Luo Wei Xi made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Joga Bonito's Artur Boruc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felix Montenegro in the 22nd minute of play. It was a well-played corner which Felix Montenegro managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Artur Boruc didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. In the 35th minute Luo Wei Xi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luo Wei Xi's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. Artur Boruc showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. The supporters of Joga Bonito booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Alejo Eleazar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Joga Bonito's supporters rose to their feet, but Alejo Eleazar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luo Wei Xi went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. Andy Symons might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Andy Symons ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luo Wei Xi in the 55th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 56 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Alejo Eleazar was slow to take the kick. During this time Joga Bonito's players had a chance to rest. Joga Bonito's Alejo Eleazar was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When Luo Wei Xi came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Joga Bonito fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luo Wei Xi couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Luo Wei Xi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Luo Wei Xi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luo Wei Xi in the 65th minute of play. 66 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Alejo Eleazar was slow to take the kick. During this time Joga Bonito's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Alejo Eleazar got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 71st minute of the match, Daniel Zorita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Artur Boruc was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Artur Boruc made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 73rd minute. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Joga Bonito's Luo Wei Xi in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Artur Boruc made a huge save. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alejo Eleazar in the 82nd minute of play. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luo Wei Xi in the 87th minute of play. Luo Wei Xi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. Luo Wei Xi kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. A collision led to Joga Bonito getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Johnny Ba Loua hit a great ball.
