Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lando Norin, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Jose Correa hit a great ball. Jonathan Ferrant was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Albertinho Andrade showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 27 minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tato Vega stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tato Vega in the 51st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 57th minute. After having played for 67 minutes, Lando Norin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Que se abra o mar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lando Norin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Que se abra o mar's Sandro Tepedino proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Que se abra o mar from getting a goal against them.
