Ecuador:s Julio Vera showed great skill when he stopped Ove Salkvist:s penalty. 10 minutes into the match, Ove Salkvist had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ove Salkvist was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After 14 minutes of play, BK Gubbhöft's Ove Salkvist made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! 17 minutes into the game, BK Gubbhöft's Ove Salkvist nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. In the 20th minute of the match, Daniel Zorita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Isaac Jonasson was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 27th minute Ove Salkvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chants of BK Gubbhöft echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Ecuador had held the ball for most of the match.
