Tomás Quadros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. In the 13th match minute, MLM was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Flavio Colillas to maneuver through the defense. In the 24th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bob Cazeneuve saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomás Quadros in the 27th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the match, MLM's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Bob Cazeneuve reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tomás Quadros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Tomás Quadros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Tomás Quadros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 39th match minute, MLM was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armando Alabern to maneuver through the defense. 47 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Henrik Tidén. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

MLM's Gartzea Vera was substituted for Candido Valerón. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Patricio Costa hit a great ball. Blas Romelio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Tomás Quadros's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomás Quadros's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. Patricio Costa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bob Cazeneuve having to make a save.
