In the 6th minute, Victorino Tallia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 8th minute, Abel Carballo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 9th minute the ball was on its way in behind Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 10th minute, Christian Lesardo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Graneros fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Christian Lesardo went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christian Lesardo in the 21st minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 26 minutes into the match, Victorino Tallia had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Victorino Tallia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Feliberto Otsando in the 29th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Victorino Tallia spun around in front of the goal 31 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Costa Rica's goal. When Graneros's Victorino Tallia in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Costa Rica's goalie prevented a goal. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Feliberto Otsando, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Feliberto Otsando in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. In the 36th minute, Victorino Tallia ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Christian Lesardo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Christian Lesardo went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-7 was the resulting score. Disappointed in the 0-7 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Axel Tasis to strike the kick off in the second half. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Feliberto Otsando got free with Benito Sanz in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Feliberto Otsando took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-9. With an all-out effort, Graneros's Benito Sanz threw himself towards the right post 60 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Feliberto Otsando, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Aaron Alcocer charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aaron Alcocer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 60th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aaron Alcocer to maneuver through the defense. 61 minutes into the match, Feliberto Otsando had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Feliberto Otsando was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-10. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Feliberto Otsando managed to get in a good position for a shot. Graneros's supporters rose to their feet, but Feliberto Otsando was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Benito Sanz made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Feliberto Otsando sent off a good shot on target. Christian Lesardo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christian Lesardo, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Victorino Tallia in the 77thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Benito Sanz, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Christian Lesardo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Feliberto Otsando got free with Benito Sanz in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Feliberto Otsando fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Benito Sanz made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Victorino Tallia sent off a good shot on target.
