An unexpectedly hard shot by Moises Fernandino in the 15th minute of play forced Motta Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Válter Sousa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Motta Futebol Clube's Mazinho Pombal quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Luis Rubio, made in the 17th minute of the game. 19 minutes in the game Mateo Leguizamo did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Valentino Ferrant. Motta Futebol Clube's Edvaldo dos Santos quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Jorge Magrina, made in the 22nd minute of the game. 24 minutes in the game Jorge Magrina did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Abram Luque. Abram Luque's late challenge caught a Motta Futebol Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Abram Luque helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to El Salvador getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Abram Luque hit a great ball. Válter Sousa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Moises Fernandino, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. If Moises Fernandino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 31 minutes of play, Motta Futebol Clube's Edvaldo dos Santos made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ricardo Zorita was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 38th minute, Moises Fernandino ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Válter Sousa was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Cícero Porto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Válter Sousa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abram Luque in the 44th minute of the match. In the 46th minute, Moises Fernandino made a precise shot to the right of Válter Sousa. Motta Futebol Clube's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. After the first half El Salvador were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cícero Porto to make the kick off. The throw-in from Jorge Magrina in the 53rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Motta Futebol Clube's Edvaldo dos Santos. Moises Fernandino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Moises Fernandino struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Válter Sousa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for El Salvador. Thanks to some nice moves Moises Fernandino could shoot a difficult shot in the 60th minute, which Válter Sousa however easily saved by the left post. 62 minutes into the game, Mateo Leguizamo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. El Salvador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Motta Futebol Clube the free kick. The supporters of Motta Futebol Clube booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mateo Leguizamo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ricardo Zorita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Toninho Ceresso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mateo Leguizamo was shown his second yellow card after 69 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 73 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Moises Fernandino. Abram Luque received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Válter Sousa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Abram Luque sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 78th minute Moises Fernandino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Válter Sousa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 81st minute, Moises Fernandino left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The El Salvador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. In the 83rd minute, Jesus Carvallo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 89 minutes into the match, Moises Fernandino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Válter Sousa. Motta Futebol Clube's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Moises Fernandino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-5. Válter Sousa was out of position in the 96 minute of play, and Moises Fernandino capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Moises Fernandino really showed his touch with that goal: 1-6. The El Salvador players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
