The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 7 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Måns Kjellman came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 8 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Anıl Akdoruk who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on FC ANC's corner Anıl Akdoruk fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. In the game's 8th minute FC ANC's Anıl Akdoruk took a hard shot from long distance, a kick which went into the net just to the right of Julio Vera and thus the score was 1-0. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 16th minute, Costel Macavei hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 20 minutes into the game, Manole Bordeanu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC ANC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. The supporters of Ecuador booed when FC ANC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manole Bordeanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Artemio Quiroga could shoot a difficult shot in the 24th minute, which Julio Vera however easily saved by the left post. In the 25th minute FC ANC were awarded a corner. Anıl Akdoruk went to the cornerflag to take it. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Måns Kjellman, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. FC ANC's Martin Tudor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 29th minute of play. In the 31st minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martin Tudor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When FC ANC's Artemio Quiroga in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Måns Kjellman in the 36th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 40th minute, Måns Kjellman ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Manole Bordeanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Artemio Quiroga was the one to do the kick off. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Måns Kjellman in the 51st minute of the match. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Artemio Quiroga in the 55th minute of play. After 55 played minutes FC ANC got a freekick which was hit by Manole Bordeanu. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Artemio Quiroga in the 59th minute of play. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Artemio Quiroga in the 61st minute of play. 67 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Dino Petricca came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, FC ANC's Martin Tudor got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Luis Andino came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 81 minutes into the match, FC ANC's goalkeeper Martin Tudor had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dino Petricca in the 83rd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 88 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for FC ANC! After 92 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Agustín Saelices. The supporters of Ecuador booed when FC ANC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dino Petricca didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 95th minute Artemio Quiroga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dino Petricca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. The FC ANC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
