In the 16th minute, Cristian Sancho made a precise shot to the right of Gelu Lepuș. Cadu Team's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 25th minute, Renato Barral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Válbson Paiva in the 41st minute. 44 minutes into the game, Hugo Alcântara was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cadu Team's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

With a little luck, Cadu Team's Gelu Lepuș got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gelu Lepuș having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Válbson Paiva in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gelu Lepuș showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 63rd minute of the match. Luis Andino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Gelu Lepuș made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mazinho Barreto during the 72nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Cadu Team made a substitution. Teodoro Lago replaced Renato Barral. With a little luck, Cadu Team's Gelu Lepuș got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Agustín Saelices hit a great ball.
