Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Mariano Lacasa kicked off to start the match. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donato Venerando, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. In the 12th minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erik Kassentoft saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Erik Kassentoft read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donato Venerando in the 19th minute of play. Chile were awarded a corner in the 22th minute after Ardiles's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Mariano Lacasa took the corner. Pedro Indiano made a great header on Chile's corner, it was just that Ardiles's Erik Kassentoft managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 24th minute of the match Chile got a corner. Ardiles's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mariano Lacasa ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Mariano Lacasa almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ardiles's Erik Kassentoft did a great save. After 25 minutes Ardiles's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Mariano Lacasa who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Mariano Lacasa got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Erik Kassentoft quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 26th minute of the match Chile got a corner. Ardiles's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mariano Lacasa ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Chile's corner Guillermo Fontirroig fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Erik Kassentoft quite easily take care of the ball. Erik Kassentoft showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 31st minute of the match. With a little luck, Chile's Thiago Pliego got control of the ball when Donato Venerando tried to sneak it across the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Erik Kassentoft made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 51st minute. 59 minutes into the match, Mariano Lacasa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Erik Kassentoft. Ardiles's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mariano Lacasa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Mariano Lacasa's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Erik Kassentoft firmly grabbed it by the left post. If Mariano Lacasa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Ardiles's Erik Kassentoft got control of the ball when Mariano Lacasa tried to sneak it across the goal line. 66 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Lisandro Estevon came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 70 minutes of play, Chile's Mariano Lacasa made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Erik Kassentoft was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thanks to some nice moves Guillermo Fontirroig could shoot a difficult shot in the 77th minute, which Erik Kassentoft however easily saved by the left post. Erik Kassentoft didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 77th minute, which inside left pole to 0-3. Ardiles's Indiana Jones got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 85th minute, Orlando Casaus hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ardiles made a substitution. Feliberto Ramirez replaced Indiana Jones. In the 86th match minute, Chile was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orlando Casaus to maneuver through the defense. 88 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Donato Venerando came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 88th minute, Alan Tamayo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Ardiles fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Chile were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
