Armando Polidori took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmundo Espiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 11th minute, Ferruccio Cesaroni hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sebastian Villa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. XMAS:s Armando Polidori showed great skill when he stopped Edmundo Espiga:s penalty. Christian Zaccardi kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Edmundo Espiga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Armando Polidori tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 24 minutes into the match, Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ennio De Nardis. In the 25th minute Edmundo Espiga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armando Polidori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Honduras booed when XMAS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Domenico Mantini didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in XMAS's zone, Moises Tafalla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Armando Polidori came out of the goal and Moises Tafalla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 32 minutes into the match, XMAS's goal looked a bit too open when Moises Tafalla came free, but Armando Polidori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 33 minutes had been played when some careless play by XMAS's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Edmundo Espiga was slow to take the kick. During this time Honduras's players had a chance to rest. After 33 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Luca Espinar. In the 34th minute, Sebastian Villa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 36 minutes in the game, Ernesto Minichiello fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Lautaro Navarro having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Edmundo Espiga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Honduras's supporters rose to their feet, but Edmundo Espiga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Armando Polidori breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 40 minutes into the game, Honduras's Edmundo Espiga nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Armando Polidori made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Lautaro Navarro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernesto Minichiello, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ernesto Minichiello in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lautaro Navarro saved Honduras from getting behind. Edmundo Espiga took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Armando Polidori. Armando Polidori dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ernesto Minichiello made a kick off. 54 minutes into the game, Comunardo Quadrini threw the ball into play from the sideline. Honduras's Christian Sancho quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 56 minutes into the match, Ernesto Minichiello had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lautaro Navarro. Honduras's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ernesto Minichiello was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. With a little luck, XMAS's Armando Polidori got control of the ball when Edmundo Espiga tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Honduras booed when XMAS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruno Alessandrini didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edmundo Espiga might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Armando Polidori. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edmundo Espiga ran back to his position shaking his head. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ernesto Minichiello in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lautaro Navarro saved Honduras from getting behind. 71 minutes into the game, Ferruccio Cesaroni was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. XMAS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Honduras the free kick. Ferruccio Cesaroni hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Ennio De Nardis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Lautaro Navarro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Christian Zaccardi charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Christian Zaccardi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Bruno Alessandrini hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, XMAS's Domenico Mantini got a free kick in the 89th minute. A throw-in in the 90th minute of the game was made by Ferruccio Cesaroni with Comunardo Quadrini as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Honduras eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
