The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Edmundo Espiga came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Honduras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmundo Espiga couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 7th minute of play forced XMAS's goalkeeper Armando Polidori to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Honduras booed when XMAS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ennio De Nardis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Armando Polidori showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 10th minute of the match. Moises Tafalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. After a rather tough play, Honduras's Milagros Cabal got a free kick in the 18th minute. 20 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Ernesto Minichiello came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Honduras booed when XMAS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christian Zaccardi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Domenico Mantini hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 31st minute of play forced XMAS's goalkeeper Armando Polidori to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Honduras from getting a goal against them. After 35 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Sebastian Villa. Moises Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armando Polidori having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 40th minute of play forced XMAS's goalkeeper Armando Polidori to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 41st minute Edmundo Espiga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armando Polidori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 43rd minute, Luca Espinar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ernesto Minichiello in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lautaro Navarro saved Honduras from getting behind. Moises Tafalla struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Armando Polidori didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Honduras. Lautaro Navarro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ennio De Nardis, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Ernesto Minichiello recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Edmundo Espiga struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Armando Polidori didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Honduras. In the 74th minute, Christian Zaccardi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edmundo Espiga kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. When Honduras's Edmundo Espiga in the 83rd minute got a chance for a shot 83rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye XMAS's goalie prevented a goal. Lautaro Navarro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ennio De Nardis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 93 minutes into the match, Ernesto Minichiello notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Honduras's Lautaro Navarro. Lautaro Navarro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
