Primitivo Andino helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 7th minute of the game. One of Ecuador:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA:s goal. Ecuador:s Julio Vera showed great skill when he stopped Edmundo Valle:s penalty. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Melquiades Amor made a huge save. Melquiades Amor made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 14th minute. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Melquiades Amor quite easily take care of the ball. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hulk Fenomeno in the 22nd minute of play. In the 24th minute CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA were awarded a corner. Edmundo Valle went to the cornerflag to take it. At last the ball reached Genko Balevski at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Ecuador. 0-2. In the 26th minute, Ivo Lago hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Melquiades Amor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 28th minute of the match. Sílvio Dantas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Agustín Saelices charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Agustín Saelices the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices got a free kick in the 47th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

57 minutes into the game, Hulk Fenomeno cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Melquiades Amor having to interfere. When Daniel Zorita, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 64 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Melquiades Amor was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 66th minute of play forced CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's goalkeeper Melquiades Amor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 67th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Melquiades Amor in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Genko Balevski in the 70th minute of play. In the 72ndth minute of the game Cristian Sancho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's Melquiades Amor was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Melquiades Amor came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Cristian Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. In the 92nd minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Melquiades Amor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Ecuador's much stronger midfield.
