The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When the match had gone on for 15 minutes, Jairo Bieito took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Dante Lacasa to make any attempt to save it. 18 minutes into the game, Los Indomables's Gabriel Remigio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dante Lacasa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jairo Bieito in the 25th minute of play. Luca Zorita kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Anthony Bosco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. In the 36th minute, Josep Carrasco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alberto Tafalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Anthony Bosco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Los Indomables booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Luque didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gabriel Remigio made a kick off. Anthony Bosco made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Facundo Cadaval sent off a good shot on target. After 57 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Lautaro Mancebo. In the 61st minute, Mexico's Joel Gaona dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2. Alberto Tafalla could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Anthony Bosco made a huge save. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Luca Zorita hit a great ball. In the 80th minute, Gabriel Remigio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Los Indomables's Josep Carrasco got a free kick in the 91st minute. In the 96th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anthony Bosco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
