If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thilo Pollakowski could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Peppermint Candy's Edwin Domekyas got a free kick in the 31st minute. In the 35th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guido Alekõrs saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Thilo Pollakowski sent off a good shot on target. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Peppermint Candy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joseph Valenzuela didn't get a good kick on the ball. Guido Alekõrs took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 60 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Luis Andino nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Peppermint Candy's defense didn't have a chance, in the 64th minute, when Daniel Zorita scored to the left of an out of position Guido Alekõrs, making the score, 0-3. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by Peppermint Candy's Edwin Domekyas. But to his dismay, Edwin Domekyas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Juan Sebastián Puig during the 72nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Felix Montenegro scored 1-4 in the 80th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Guido Alekõrs, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
