The referee ignored Villaverde Celeste Clube's protests and gave Nicolai Otamendi a yellow card for diving instead. After 68 played minutes Villaverde Celeste Clube got a freekick which was hit by Zeledon Vachon. Peru's Julian Murillo got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eliseo Mina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nenko Reza having to interfere. Nenko Reza made an important save on a dangerous shot by Milagros Fraga in the 78th minute. Roy Makaay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Villaverde Celeste Clube were victorious despite being under pressure from Peru for much of the match.
