Tomas Berganza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. 武青霖 tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Isidoro Sarmiento's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but 武青霖 read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. Marcos Cotilla made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bernabe Cambiasso in the 10th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Miralles in the 13th minute of play forced Elite Team's goalkeeper 武青霖 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cheb Saïd-Guerni received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Marcos Cotilla tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cheb Saïd-Guerni got free with Marcos Cotilla in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tomas Berganza struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. 武青霖 didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Panama. In the 20th minute, Isidoro Sarmiento got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Panama booed when Elite Team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruno Kiener didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cheb Saïd-Guerni hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diego Cabrera in the 37th minute of the match. 39 minutes into the game, Tomas Berganza was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Panama's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Elite Team the free kick. The supporters of Elite Team booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomas Berganza didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 44th minute Miguel Miralles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 武青霖 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Panama's Marcos Cotilla proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Panama from getting a goal against them. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Tomas Berganza made the kick off in the second half. When the match had gone on for 54 minutes, Tomas Berganza took a quick shot and it went in 0-1 without a chance for 武青霖 to make any attempt to save it. Isidoro Sarmiento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without 武青霖 having to interfere. After having played for 59 minutes, Cheb Saïd-Guerni managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Elite Team's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cheb Saïd-Guerni was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Abraham Alguacil received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. 武青霖 tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 65 minutes, Dylan Sarmiento mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Panama and the Elite Team players grew even worse after the yellow card. Tomas Berganza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 71 played minutes Elite Team got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Kiener. 武青霖 was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Abraham Alguacil. Abraham Alguacil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cheb Saïd-Guerni struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Marcos Cotilla didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Elite Team. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diego Cabrera in the 87th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Tomas Berganza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cheb Saïd-Guerni in the 95th minute of play. The Panama supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Panama would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
