After some careless play in the De Pelgrims defense, Cassius Byrne kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mike Zoetmulder. The De Pelgrims fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mike Zoetmulder should have stopped the shot. Mike Zoetmulder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edward Mcdonald in the 18th minute of the match. 19 minutes into the match, Monty Rogers had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mike Zoetmulder. The supporters of USA booed when De Pelgrims was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marco Baker in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mike Zoetmulder saved De Pelgrims from getting behind.
