The audience thought a goal was coming when Garth Brough got free with Joaquin Gayoso in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Australian Youth Academy's Garth Brough was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 6th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Ellis Hoskin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 13th minute, Boyd Allan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Garth Brough had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 20 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Garth Brough. Garth Brough in the 22ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Joaquin Gayoso, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Garth Brough kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. 42 minutes into the match, Australian Youth Academy's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Seco came free, but Keylor Navas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 44 played minutes Australian Youth Academy got a freekick which was hit by Ellis Hoskin. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Garth Brough, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

54 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Garth Brough came free, but Joaquin Gayoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ellis Hoskin, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. In the 59th minute, Garth Brough left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Australian Youth Academy fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Garth Brough in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joaquin Gayoso saved Uruguay from getting behind. When Francisco Seco came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Uruguay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francisco Seco couldn't finish the play. 70 minutes into the match, Garth Brough notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso. Joaquin Gayoso was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jorge Sainz kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. In the 77th match minute, Uruguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorge Sainz to maneuver through the defense. Joaquin Gayoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Garth Brough, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 81 minutes of play, Australian Youth Academy's Garth Brough made it 7-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joaquin Gayoso was left in no man's land by his defense there! 85 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Garth Brough came free, but Joaquin Gayoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 86 minutes into the match, Garth Brough had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. Uruguay's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Garth Brough was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 8-0. 92 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Garth Brough came free, but Joaquin Gayoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Australian Youth Academy's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
