The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alan Moruga to maneuver through the defense. In the 3rd minute of the match Cornel Gorjanu sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benito Sanz skillfully saved the ball. Efrain Moruga charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, Cornel Gorjanu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Cornel Gorjanu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lautaro Puig during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig got a free kick in the 30th minute. The ACS Echipa Ursilor Brasov fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Axel Tasis to strike the kick off in the second half. Cornel Gorjanu in the 72ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Benito Sanz, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After 77 played minutes ACS Echipa Ursilor Brasov got a freekick which was hit by Octav Arapașu. Eliseo Noboa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Maxim Moldovan's late challenge caught a Costa Rica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Maxim Moldovan helped the player get up and apologised. Eliseo Noboa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. The Costa Rica fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. ACS Echipa Ursilor Brasov were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
