In the 8th minute Isidoro Sarmiento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tudor Balțoi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 9 minutes into the match, Timbau CSM's goalkeeper Tudor Balțoi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Abraham Alguacil. After 15 minutes, Isidoro Sarmiento mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Panama and the Timbau CSM players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 17th match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felipe Ros to maneuver through the defense. Tudor Balțoi made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Abraham Alguacil sent off a good shot on target. After 22 played minutes Timbau CSM got a freekick which was hit by Duddu Doro. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 23rd minute of play forced Timbau CSM's goalkeeper Tudor Balțoi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 23 minutes into the game, Tomas Berganza cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Tudor Balțoi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Tudor Balțoi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abraham Alguacil in the 26th minute. 30 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Elemér Udvarhelyi came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 35thth minute of the game Tomas Berganza who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Timbau CSM's Tudor Balțoi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 36 minutes, Tomas Berganza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Panama's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Berganza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tudor Balțoi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Berganza, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Tudor Balțoi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Berganza in the 41st minute of the match. Tomas Berganza scored 2-1 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tudor Balțoi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some careless play in the Panama defense, Cristi Ionășescu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcos Cotilla. The Panama fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcos Cotilla should have stopped the shot. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The wind increased when Tomas Berganza made the kick off in the second half. Tudor Balțoi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Berganza in the 50th minute of the match. After 51 minutes, Nechifor Ispas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Timbau CSM and the Panama players grew even worse after the yellow card. Nechifor Ispas kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Panama's Tomas Berganza got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 54th minute, Duddu Doro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Berganza in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tudor Balțoi saved Timbau CSM from getting behind. In the 57th minute Abraham Alguacil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tudor Balțoi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Timbau CSM booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abraham Alguacil didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nechifor Ispas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Marcos Cotilla made a huge save. Tomas Berganza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tudor Balțoi having to interfere. Tudor Balțoi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Berganza, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Tomas Berganza put it in 3-2 from a short distance just to the right of Tudor Balțoi.
