It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Mariano Lacasa kicked off to start the match. With a little luck, Chile's Thiago Pliego got control of the ball when Goren Baños tried to sneak it across the goal line. Marcelino Nuxila stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mariano Lacasa's shot from short distance in the 4th minute. Marcelino Nuxila showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 11th minute of the match. Marcelino Nuxila took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guillermo Fontirroig, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Goren Baños in the 18th minute of play. Mariano Lacasa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marcelino Nuxila having to make a save. The crowd rose to their feet as Gustavo-Hernán Vallejo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Thiago Pliego. That made the score 1-0 in the 22 minute of play. In the 25th minute Orlando Casaus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelino Nuxila saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 26 minutes had been played when some careless play by 1947 FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Mariano Lacasa was slow to take the kick. Thiago Pliego stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Americo Artal's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. Xande Hwang fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thiago Pliego having to interfere. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Americo Artal in the 95th minute of play. A collision led to 1947 FC getting a freekick after 98 minutes play. Jonathan Enmanuel hit a great ball. In the 99th minute the ball was on its way in behind 1947 FC's goalkeeper Marcelino Nuxila, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Chile eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
