Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Robustiano Oihenarte started the match with the kick off. In the 2nd match minute, Villa Maria FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paolo Emesto to maneuver through the defense. After 3 played minutes, Costa Rica's Axel Tasis shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Celestino Columbo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Costa Rica reached it. In the 6th minute, Generoso Txema ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Lautaro Puig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 17th minute of the game. One of Costa Rica:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Villa Maria FC:s goal. In the 18th minute there was a penalty for Villa Maria FC. Desiderio Ederono stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Benito Sanz. 2-0. In the 21st match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Rubio to maneuver through the defense. 28 minutes into the game, Venancio Panpili recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Benito Sanz. Venancio Panpili showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Desiderio Ederono during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Villa Maria FC's Desiderio Ederono got a free kick in the 30th minute. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robustiano Oihenarte in the 33rd minute of play. 35 minutes into the match, Venancio Panpili had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Venancio Panpili was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robustiano Oihenarte in the 39th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Venancio Panpili got free with Benito Sanz in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paolo Emesto, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-0 at half-time.

If Froilan Inguma had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 50th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hugo Ferrant's late challenge caught a Villa Maria FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hugo Ferrant helped the player get up and apologised. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, Venancio Panpili stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Venancio Panpili tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Axel Tasis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Costa Rica's supporters rose to their feet, but Axel Tasis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Celestino Columbo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A sloppy throw-in by Desiderio Ederono in the 60th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig. In the 65th minute, Venancio Panpili left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Villa Maria FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robustiano Oihenarte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Froilan Inguma in the 71st minute of the match. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Venancio Panpili kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. When Costa Rica's Axel Tasis in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Villa Maria FC's goalie prevented a goal. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Alan Moruga got a free kick in the 77th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Venancio Panpili in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. 85 minutes into the match, Robustiano Oihenarte notched a goal, 8-0, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 91 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Robustiano Oihenarte came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 93rd minute Generoso Txema shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aaron Alcocer hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Venancio Panpili managed to get in a good position for a shot. Villa Maria FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Venancio Panpili was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Generoso Txema came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Villa Maria FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Generoso Txema couldn't finish the play. There was no doubt that Villa Maria FC were the better team. Villa Maria FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
