The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. BENFICA UNITED's Tomé Soveral proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save BENFICA UNITED from getting a goal against them. Tomé Soveral made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, BENFICA UNITED's Tomé Soveral got control of the ball when Agustín Saelices tried to sneak it across the goal line. Luis Andino hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. 75 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when José Augusto Hoffmann came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling José Augusto Hoffmann in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Douglas Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. 80 minutes into the game, Douglas Costa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 88th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Douglas Costa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomé Soveral having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Antonio Arias got a free kick in the 95th minute. Douglas Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
