A very good chance for a goal. 3 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Geronimo Ferrando made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 7th minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geronimo Ferrando saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 8th minute of play forced Jabones Tocadores's goalkeeper Geronimo Ferrando to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 19 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Geronimo Ferrando narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 20th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geronimo Ferrando saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Geronimo Ferrando didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Geronimo Ferrando didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Agustín Saelices went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Ecuador's Felix Montenegro got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Jabones Tocadores was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Desiderio Tabb didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Jabones Tocadores defense, Luis Andino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Geronimo Ferrando. The Jabones Tocadores fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Geronimo Ferrando should have stopped the shot. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geronimo Ferrando having to interfere. Jaime Regis hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. In the 45th minute, Primitivo Bastian hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell David Alonso to make the kick off. After having played for 54 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 55 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Zorita. David Alonso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 61st minute by Daniel Zorita got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Geronimo Ferrando showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agustín Saelices, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Geronimo Ferrando took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan Sebastián Puig, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 72th minute after Jabones Tocadores's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Jabones Tocadores's goalie and right to Juan Sebastián Puig. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Jabones Tocadores's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Alonso in the 80th minute of the match. Geronimo Ferrando made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luis Andino in the 83rd minute. In the 85th minute, Jabones Tocadores's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The crowd rose to their feet as Cristian Sancho kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Geronimo Ferrando. That made the score 0-6 in the 87 minute of play. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Geronimo Ferrando didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Jabones Tocadores fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
