Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Lajos Vadász made a huge save. Cihat Canbek might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cihat Canbek ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 30th minute, Uğur Erkovich hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lajos Vadász took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lajos Vadász made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. FC juveMET's Lajos Vadász proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save FC juveMET from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Ecuador booed when FC juveMET was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arda Turan didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in FC juveMET's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. Lajos Vadász showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agustín Saelices, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. After having played for 56 minutes, Şinasi Derem managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC juveMET's supporters crossed their fingers, but Şinasi Derem was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 58 minutes into the game, Uğur Erkovich was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC juveMET's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. In the 58th match minute, FC juveMET was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Uğur Erkovich to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Şinasi Derem got free with Julio Vera in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. FC juveMET were awarded a corner in the 62th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Cihat Canbek took the corner. In the 68th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lajos Vadász saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Tansu İnanoğlu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Tansu İnanoğlu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cihat Canbek, 72 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 75 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC juveMET's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Lajos Vadász in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Uğur Erkovich could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save.
