The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Aldo Beltxe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luz Tejedor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 13 minutes into the match, Marno F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Aldo Beltxe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 15th minute of play forced Marno F.C.'s goalkeeper Aldo Beltxe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 17 minutes in the game Martin Bieito did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Gabriel Mónos. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lázaro Cefero in the 28th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Peru defense, Lázaro Cefero kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rolando Noboa. The Peru fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rolando Noboa should have stopped the shot. In the 38th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aldo Beltxe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The throw-in from Martin Bieito in the 42nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Peru's Alonso Berganza. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Julian Murillo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aldo Beltxe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eliseo Mina struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Aldo Beltxe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Peru. Marno F.C.'s Cristobal Dominix was substituted for Gabriel Mónos. Peru's Eliseo Mina quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Martin Bieito, made in the 66th minute of the game. In the 70th minute Luz Tejedor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aldo Beltxe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lázaro Cefero, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 77th minute of play forced Marno F.C.'s goalkeeper Aldo Beltxe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marno F.C.'s Aldo Beltxe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 78th minute of play. 79 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aldo Beltxe narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Lázaro Cefero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. Martin Bieito hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Aldo Beltxe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafael Gallo in the 86th minute of the match. Antonio Tenorio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Aldo Beltxe made a huge save. The Marno F.C. players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
