Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off. Márcio Cruz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agustín Saelices in the 6th minute of play forced Atlético-PR's goalkeeper Oswaldo Paraíba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Márcio Cruz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedrinho Hoffmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Samuel de Souza hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Oswaldo Paraíba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 13th minute of play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Atlético-PR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diogo Rezende didn't get a good kick on the ball. Oswaldo Paraíba came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Cristian Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Eugênio Azevedo kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Atlético-PR's Oswaldo Paraíba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 33rd minute of play. In the 35th minute Pedrinho Hoffmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Oswaldo Paraíba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 38th minute of the match. Oswaldo Paraíba came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Cristian Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pedrinho Hoffmann was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedrinho Hoffmann in the 51st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Oswaldo Paraíba read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. Oswaldo Paraíba made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 54th minute. Daniel Zorita had several of the Atlético-PR's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 54 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-3 score and a disappointed Oswaldo Paraíba as he didn't even see the shot coming. If Dráuzio Barral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Pedrinho Hoffmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Atlético-PR made a substitution. Cacá Breckenfeld replaced Eugênio Azevedo. Atlético-PR's Hong Jian Fan was substituted for Pedrinho Hoffmann. A collision led to Atlético-PR getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Cacá Breckenfeld hit a great ball. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Oswaldo Paraíba didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. 73 minutes into the game, Agustín Saelices recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Oswaldo Paraíba. Agustín Saelices showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Oswaldo Paraíba tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Atlético-PR's Dráuzio Barral got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hong Jian Fan in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. If Dráuzio Barral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hong Jian Fan, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Ecuador played a much better game than Atlético-PR and deserved their victory. The Atlético-PR players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
