Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wit Zapolski to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Πυργετός Fc's goal looked a bit too open when Agustín Saelices came free, but Zisis Vourlis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wit Zapolski in the 57th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luis Andino's late challenge caught a Πυργετός Fc's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wit Zapolski could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Wit Zapolski's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. If Wit Zapolski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 78th minute Wit Zapolski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wit Zapolski blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. 83 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Wit Zapolski came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 85th minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Zisis Vourlis was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. When Camilo Gisbert fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ecuador's protests and gave Camilo Gisbert a yellow card for diving instead. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Ecuador fully deserved thier win.
