Spectators: 47 (Terracing: 36, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Tomas Illescas got the match started through his kick off. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a free kick in the 5th minute. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastian Percival, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Albert Gamble took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 23rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Jonathan Venegas hit a great ball. In the 27th minute, Pastor Eufemio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Club Atlético de Newell fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. A collision led to Club Atlético de Newell getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Arbi Newell hit a great ball. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Club Atlético de Newell's Pastor Eufemio. But to his dismay, Pastor Eufemio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. In the 33rd minute, Cliff Kershaw got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Club Atlético de Newell's Sebastian Percival in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Venezuela's goalie prevented a goal. 37 minutes into the game, Club Atlético de Newell's Albert Gamble nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. In the 39th minute, Sebastian Percival hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 42 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Spike Foley came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sebastian Percival to strike the kick off in the second half. Sebastian Percival sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Albert Gamble fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Dušan Ančic didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tomas Illescas went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-5 was the resulting score. Club Atlético de Newell made a substitution. Ken Roberts replaced Devon Howson. In the 66th minute Sebastian Percival shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomas Illescas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dušan Ančic having to make a save. Dušan Ančic took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pastor Eufemio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Club Atlético de Newell's Casey Harban was substituted for Arbi Newell. Club Atlético de Newell made a substitution. Amanda Hoffs replaced Vince Haywood. After a defensive mix-up in Club Atlético de Newell's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dušan Ančic came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastian Percival, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Patricio Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Dušan Ančic tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Club Atlético de Newell's Spike Foley got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 81 minutes into the match, Club Atlético de Newell's goal looked a bit too open when Patricio Costa came free, but Dušan Ančic reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Percival in the 91st minute of play. Sebastian Percival scored 1-6 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Club Atlético de Newell played a much better game than Venezuela and deserved their victory. The Venezuela players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
