Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kazimierz Piekarczyk, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. In the 9th minute LEON FC were awarded a corner. Adan Panfilo went to the cornerflag to take it. The supporters of LEON FC booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruno Beldad didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kazım Kutbay during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, LEON FC's Kazım Kutbay got a free kick in the 14th minute. Jaime Cazalla could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Anier Sanduru made a huge save. Anier Sanduru made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Francisco Seco sent off a good shot on target. Francisco Seco scored 1-0 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Anier Sanduru, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Maximiliano Escribano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 41st minute, Maximiliano Escribano fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Anier Sanduru, passed just outside the right post. Cyprien Bénard hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. In the 47th minute Francisco Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anier Sanduru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Francisco Seco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Francisco Seco made a precise shot to the right of Anier Sanduru. LEON FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. The audience was convinced that Francisco Seco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Anier Sanduru was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. The referee gave Kazım Kutbay a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Kazım Kutbay hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Francisco Seco scored 4-0 in the 61st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Anier Sanduru, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Anier Sanduru stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Francisco Seco's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. Francisco Seco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anier Sanduru having to interfere. The supporters of Uruguay booed when LEON FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francisco Papo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 71 minutes into the match, LEON FC's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Seco came free, but Anier Sanduru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Francisco Seco in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anier Sanduru prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Anier Sanduru took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kazimierz Piekarczyk recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Francisco Seco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Anier Sanduru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Uruguay fans' excitement grew in the 90th match minute when Uruguay's Francisco Seco looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Kazimierz Piekarczyk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquin Gayoso having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Uruguay had won after a very even match.
