Rolando Noboa was a little too slow when Sérgio Donato got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 15th minute. The score was now 2-0. Andrei Cerbu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 19th minute of play. With a little luck, Peru's Rolando Noboa got control of the ball when Sérgio Donato tried to sneak it across the goal line. Eliseo Mina received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. It was Luz Tejedor who took care of the corner kick. The corner led to Peru's Milagros Fraga getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. In the 37th minute, GLADIADORES's Anacleto Rozarius ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Rolando Noboa. Rolando Noboa yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-1. After a rather tough play, GLADIADORES's Batu Cem Ekinci got a free kick in the 41st minute. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilson Andrade, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilson Andrade in the 45th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Julian Murillo made the kick off in the second half. Johannes Stein made in the 52nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. Andrei Cerbu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Milagros Fraga in the 54th minute. In the 85th minute, Antonio Tenorio reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Andrei Cerbu. The goal made the score 3-2. Rafael Gallo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrei Cerbu having to interfere.
