The referee ignored YR Mechelen's protests and gave Jamie Van Mechelen a yellow card for diving instead. YR Mechelen's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Miguel Van Mechelen in the 8thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Lautaro Navarro, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Andries Van Mechelen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sebastian Villa in the 12th minute of the match. Lautaro Navarro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Miguel Van Mechelen's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. Andries Van Mechelen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastian Villa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Honduras's Emanuel Ocampo got a free kick in the 46th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

A nice corner shot did that Adolphe De Maerschalckx got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Lautaro Navarro quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Diederik Van Mechelen managed to get in a good position for a shot. YR Mechelen's supporters rose to their feet, but Diederik Van Mechelen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lautaro Navarro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diederik Van Mechelen in the 60th minute of play. In the 62nd minute YR Mechelen were awarded a corner. Adolphe De Maerschalckx went to the cornerflag to take it. Diederik Van Mechelen scored 3-0 in the 65th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lautaro Navarro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Christian Sancho kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. In the 70th minute, Diederik Van Mechelen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. YR Mechelen's Joery Van Mechelen managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Valentín Carvallo in the 72 minute of the game. 75 minutes into the game, Joery Van Mechelen threw the ball into play from the sideline. Honduras's Valentín Carvallo quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. If Diederik Van Mechelen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alan Wirinckx kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. When Moises Tafalla came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Honduras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Moises Tafalla couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Diederik Van Mechelen in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lautaro Navarro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match had gone on for 88 minutes, Edmundo Espiga put it in 3-1 from a short distance just to the right of Andries Van Mechelen. Diederik Van Mechelen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Honduras's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because YR Mechelen had won, even though Honduras had held more of the ball.
