After 23 minutes of play, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aquilino Iruinea was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Jose Correa hit a great ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 31st minute of the game. One of Defensores del Ángel Gris:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Venezuela:s goal. Defensores del Ángel Gris's Aquilino Iruinea proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Defensores del Ángel Gris from getting a goal against them. In the 36th minute, Alex Chicote hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Patricio Costa received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Aquilino Iruinea came out and tried to block the shot, but Patricio Costa slotted it home off the left post making it 4-0 in the 40th minute. In the 45th minute of the match, Tomas Illescas got a very nice opportunity to score, but Aquilino Iruinea was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Lorenzo Tohias made in the 47th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Ladislao Dalmai. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Illescas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Aquilino Iruinea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aquilino Iruinea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 56th minute of play forced Defensores del Ángel Gris's goalkeeper Aquilino Iruinea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 58th minute, Tomas Illescas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Venezuela fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. Aquilino Iruinea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 62nd minute of play. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aquilino Iruinea having to interfere. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cosme Lizar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patricio Costa in the 85th minute of play forced Defensores del Ángel Gris's goalkeeper Aquilino Iruinea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Patricio Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Venezuela had played much better football throughout.
