The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Pardina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Calistrat Musceleanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 5th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliseo Noboa to maneuver through the defense. If Dan Mihele had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 17 minutes of play, Pardina's Dan Mihele made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ion Pârâianu charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ion Pârâianu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The Pardina fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 33rd match minute, Pardina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vlad Chihaia to maneuver through the defense. In the 43rd minute Ion Pârâianu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Pardina were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ion Pârâianu to make the kick off. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ion Pârâianu in the 56th minute of play. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dan Mihele's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. Ion Pârâianu received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Benito Sanz came out and tried to block the shot, but Ion Pârâianu slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 65th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dan Mihele in the 68th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dan Mihele fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Mugur Tăbăcaru came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa. But to his dismay, Eliseo Noboa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-5. Eliseo Noboa charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eliseo Noboa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Eliseo Noboa hit a great ball. In the 84th minute, Dan Mihele ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-6. Benito Sanz made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Dan Mihele sent off a good shot on target. In the 88th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alan Moruga to maneuver through the defense. After 91 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Abel Carballo. Abel Carballo thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Benito Sanz, a very annoying self made goal in the 94th minute which led to 1-7. When the final whistle sounded Pardina left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Costa Rica.
