In the 17th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliseo Noboa to maneuver through the defense. Alexander Carballo hit a great ball. 42 minutes into the game, Samba Fotboll U21's Joseph Holmberg nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joseph Holmberg in the 45th minute of the match. In the 47th minute Samba Fotboll U21 were awarded a corner. Elias Meck went to the cornerflag to take it.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Axel Tasis to make the kick off. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joseph Holmberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Jim Meck kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Benito Sanz. That made the score 1-5 in the 58 minute of play. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Zygmunt Koprowski kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. Samba Fotboll U21's Måns Johansson managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Efrain Moruga in the 75 minute of the game. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Samba Fotboll U21 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Conrado Frascuelo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zygmunt Koprowski, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Zygmunt Koprowski had several of the Costa Rica's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 86 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-8 score and a disappointed Benito Sanz as he didn't even see the shot coming. 90 minutes into the game, Zygmunt Koprowski recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Benito Sanz. Zygmunt Koprowski showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-9. Zygmunt Koprowski struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Samba Fotboll U21. When %teams%'s Zygmunt Koprowski was free in front of goal, he didn't hesitate to shoot 1-10 just inside the left pole, 96 minutes into the game. Benito Sanz was annoyed at himself for letting in the shot. The Costa Rica fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Samba Fotboll U21 were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
