Alex Vallin who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 9thth minute tested the skills of Marcos Cotilla when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gunde Svan in the 10th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gunde Svan in the 13th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. MAFFIAN's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Panama the free kick. In the 52nd match minute, MAFFIAN was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alf Säfström to maneuver through the defense. Panama's Tomas Berganza got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 55th minute, Alex Cambeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marcos Cotilla came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by MAFFIAN's Alex Vallin. But to his dismay, Alex Vallin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Gunde Svan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Marcos Cotilla tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. MAFFIAN's Aron Dahlbom played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Berganza in the 70th minute of play.
