A collision led to Club Deportivo O IRIXO getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Andrés-Fernando Gonzalvez hit a great ball. Dacio Lara's late challenge caught a Costa Rica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dacio Lara helped the player get up and apologised. In the 15th minute, Dacio Lara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 17 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Andrei Gil came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eliseo Noboa's late challenge caught a Club Deportivo O IRIXO's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eliseo Noboa helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Club Deportivo O IRIXO booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliseo Noboa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Andrés-Fernando Gonzalvez went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. If Andrei Gil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andrés-Fernando Gonzalvez in the 36th minute of play. Club Deportivo O IRIXO's attentive Perico Caminero managed to snatch the ball when Efrain Moruga made a throw-in in the 37th minute of the game. Andrés-Fernando Gonzalvez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alan Moruga during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 44 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Alan Moruga. Andrei Gil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hitzeder Palomar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 57 minutes into the match, Andrei Gil notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Club Deportivo O IRIXO's Dacio Lara got a free kick in the 64th minute. If Andrés-Fernando Gonzalvez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benito Sanz was a little too slow when Andrei Gil got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 74th minute. The score was now 0-4. 82 minutes into the game, Andrei Gil recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Benito Sanz. Andrei Gil showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-6. Benito Sanz was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Andrés-Fernando Gonzalvez showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-7 in the 85 minute of play. In the 87th minute, Andrés-Fernando Gonzalvez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Andrei Gil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Andrés-Fernando Gonzalvez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Costa Rica's defense didn't have a chance, in the 93rd minute, when Andrei Gil scored to the left of an out of position Benito Sanz, making the score, 0-8. Club Deportivo O IRIXO played a much better game than Costa Rica and deserved their victory. The Costa Rica players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
