Tomé Montenegro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 10th minute of play forced Ferreira Lopes MZC's goalkeeper Tomé Montenegro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristian Sancho took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tomé Montenegro. Tomé Montenegro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. If Ronaldo Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 22nd minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Tomé Montenegro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 28th minute of play. Ferreira Lopes MZC's Tomé Montenegro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 39th minute of play. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronaldo Alcântara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dário Martins to strike the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, Ferreira Lopes MZC's goalkeeper Tomé Montenegro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Tomé Montenegro was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cristian Sancho showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-5 in the 57 minute of play. Ronaldo Alcântara took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-5. In the 66thth minute of the game Ronaldo Alcântara who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Tomé Montenegro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. The audience was convinced that Ronaldo Alcântara's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. Tomé Montenegro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-6 was the resulting score. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldo Alcântara in the 92nd minute of play. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Ferreira Lopes MZC.
