Felipe Ros was shown his second yellow card after 28 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Felipe Ros hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Panama's Abraham Alguacil got a free kick in the 32nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 38th minute of play forced Punta Alvear's goalkeeper Venancio Oto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacinto Eleazar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 43 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Jacinto Eleazar came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Panama players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Punta Alvear were winning 0-2.

Venancio Oto was left in no man's land by his defense there! Marcos Cotilla made an important save on a dangerous shot by Inocencio Frichoso in the 65th minute. 66 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Ermegildo Heriberto came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ermegildo Heriberto in the 72nd minute of play. Jacinto Eleazar kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. 80 minutes into the match, Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jacinto Eleazar. 81 minutes into the match, Ermegildo Heriberto notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of Panama's Marcos Cotilla. Marcos Cotilla was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The corner led Punta Alvear's Edelmiro Veremundo to fire away a dangerous shot which Marcos Cotilla despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball.
