With a little luck, Wisła Kraków's Roch Zdeb got control of the ball when Lautaro Mancebo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Roch Zdeb was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Lautaro Mancebo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 24 minute of play. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ermanno Puglielli in the 30th minute of the match. Wisła Kraków were furious when Slawomir Galagan was red carded, 45 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Wisła Kraków made a substitution. Gwidon Bambas replaced Mieszko Makomaski. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Gaona made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Wisła Kraków's zone, Alberto Tafalla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roch Zdeb came out of the goal and Alberto Tafalla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 63rd minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roch Zdeb saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mariusz Kornaszewski blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dante Lacasa having to make a save. Roch Zdeb showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Roch Zdeb didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alberto Tafalla went, in the 73rd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Mexico's zone, Cesare Schiavoni stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dante Lacasa came out of the goal and Cesare Schiavoni tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joel Gaona in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Roch Zdeb saved Wisła Kraków from getting behind. After 84 minutes, Joel Gaona made it 4-2 with a short kick to the right side. Wisła Kraków's Roch Zdeb tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 86 minutes into the match, Wisła Kraków's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Roch Zdeb reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Wisła Kraków defense, Joel Gaona kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Roch Zdeb. The Wisła Kraków fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Roch Zdeb should have stopped the shot. Roch Zdeb showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. There was no doubt that Mexico were the better team. Mexico's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
