Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from 江洲帆, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Luca Rouco got a free kick in the 45th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joel Gaona stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 史杰博 showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luca Zorita in the 51st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by 徐森响 in the 66th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 67 minutes into the match, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that 史杰博 narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joel Gaona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bernardo Machado took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-3. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
