Spectators: 52 (Terracing: 39, Seating: 12, VIP seats: 1) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Julian Murillo got the match started through his kick off. Nery Pumpido took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luz Tejedor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thierry Henry kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 9th minute of play forced GuateFortín's goalkeeper Nery Pumpido to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as GuateFortín's Angel Alvarenga slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rolando Noboa. That made the score 1-0 after 18 minutes of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in GuateFortín fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 21st minute. Penalty! Nery Pumpido had in the 22ndth minute some difficulties stopping Luz Tejedor's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Nery Pumpido showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Peru's Rolando Noboa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Peru from getting a goal against them. Nery Pumpido came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by Peru's Julian Murillo. But to his dismay, Julian Murillo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After a rather tough play, Peru's Emmanuel Reyes got a free kick in the 31st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Milagros Fraga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peru's supporters rose to their feet, but Milagros Fraga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nery Pumpido breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Julian Murillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Nery Pumpido tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Thierry Henry made the kick off in the second half. Sven-Edvin Jansson kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Nery Pumpido made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Julian Murillo sent off a good shot on target. Nery Pumpido made an important save on a dangerous shot by Julian Murillo in the 55th minute. In the 56th minute Thierry Henry shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 57thth minute of the game Thierry Henry who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Peru's Rolando Noboa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Nery Pumpido made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Luz Tejedor sent off a good shot on target. After 60 minutes GuateFortín's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luz Tejedor who took care of the corner kick. Zico Zellier took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rolando Noboa. Rolando Noboa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. GuateFortín made a substitution. Ivan Lozano replaced Roberto Trotta. Rolando Noboa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Thierry Henry's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseo Mina in the 71st minute of play forced GuateFortín's goalkeeper Nery Pumpido to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Peru's Luz Tejedor got a free kick in the 73rd minute. After 74 minutes of play, GuateFortín's Thierry Henry made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rolando Noboa was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 77 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Anthony Alvarado. Nery Pumpido showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 83rd minute of the match. In the 85th minute, William Villanueva got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. Nery Pumpido took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rafael Gallo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The GuateFortín support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
