Jonathan Ferrant yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sixten Sjö got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 22nd match minute, Jonsereds IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lars Hernström to maneuver through the defense. 27 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sixten Sjö. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Sixten Sjö tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 43rd minute of the match, Sixten Sjö tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jonathan Ferrant saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sixten Sjö's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. Folke Wahlström made in the 62nd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Sixten Sjö immediately put the ball in play. Tomas Illescas made a great header on Venezuela's corner, it was just that Jonsereds IF's Gil Garcia managed to reach the ball for a save.
