Carlo Borgatello could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Rolando Noboa made a huge save. 17 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC Aquile Azzurre's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luz Tejedor was slow to take the kick. During this time Peru's players had a chance to rest. The corner went over the outstretched arms of FC Aquile Azzurre's goalie and right to Eliseo Mina. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. FC Aquile Azzurre's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Julian Murillo struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Sabin Pânzaru didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Peru. Sabin Pânzaru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Sabin Pânzaru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseo Mina in the 28th minute of play. Julian Murillo scored 0-2 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sabin Pânzaru, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Carlo Borgatello took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Rolando Noboa to make any attempt to save it. Sabin Pânzaru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. In the 45th minute Carlo Borgatello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The FC Aquile Azzurre players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Peru were winning 1-2.

Sabin Pânzaru showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 73rd minute of the match. Sabin Pânzaru was out of position in the 79 minute of play, and Julian Murillo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Julian Murillo really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3. After some careless play in the FC Aquile Azzurre defense, Julian Murillo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sabin Pânzaru. The FC Aquile Azzurre fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sabin Pânzaru should have stopped the shot. Peru made a substitution. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. Sabin Pânzaru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafael Gallo in the 89th minute of play. Rafael Gallo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sabin Pânzaru read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dinç Dede in the 96th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peru played a much better game than FC Aquile Azzurre and deserved their victory. The FC Aquile Azzurre players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
